Preface

I have created this blog in order to make freely available online the contents of my book, Disputed Topics in the Theology of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The articles initially began their life on the Web, so I have kept it that way. The printed edition, however, provides a better reading experience for those who wish to obtain a copy. The book contains nine articles, or theological essays, written at various times, relating to the doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. See Introduction for detail.
The first three editions of this book (2016–2020) were published under the title of Essays on Doctrine, and published using Print on Demand (POD) technology by IngramSpark© as well as by Amazon KDP. This latest edition is published under a different title, and exclusively by Amazon KDP. This edition contains more editorial changes and improvements, including changes designed to bring the contents more in line with Church’s latest Style Guide concerning the name of the Church. As a result some chapter or article headings have also changed—which is one of the reasons why I have decided to publish this latest edition under a different title. The official publication date was December 18, 2021. This edition is published in paperback (ISBN: 978-1-8381250-2-8) and in hardcover (ISBN: 978-1-8381250-3-5), and also digitally for the Amazon Kindle (ISBN: 978-0-9565989-5-0).
I have also now published a third edition of my special publication of the Lectures on Faith by Joseph Smith, in both paperback (ISBN: 978-1-8381250-4-2) and hardcover (ISBN: 978-1-8381250-5-9), in which more refinements and improvements have been made. The official publication date of the third edition was January 10, 2022. Likewise my commentary on Isaiah is now also in its fourth edition, in paperback (ISBN: 978-1-8381250-6-6) as well as hardcover (ISBN: 978-1-8381250-7-3), the official publication date being January 21, 2022.
All my books are self-published with POD technology using the imprint: Antum Publications. The word “Antum” is an obscure word which occurs in the Book of Mormon once, and is associated in the book with the hill in which the gold plates were deposited, hence the concept behind the motif and design of my publishing logo, which is a registered trademark.
